Heroes can engage in a variety of Actions which will reward them with experience, items, Materials and more. Heroes can only engage in one Action at a time and every Action has a set amount of real-world time it takes for the Hero to return from.
Every zone in Cambria contains Leylines and Aionwells - powerful sources of Aion energy which your Hero can draw power from. While Leylines are more common and less contested, Aionwells are the more potent source, offering a higher reward of Aion and experience. All Heroes who embark on a Channeling action can be the target of an Ambush from another Hero which can result in the Ambusher stealing the Aion you would otherwise Channel on that Action. Aionwells are also guarded by PVE enemies who will try to prevent your Hero from accessing them, meaning if you choose to channel from an Aionwell, you will always fight either another player's Hero or a game mob in order to access it.
Successful Channeling actions are rewarded with $AION tokens, Hero experience, talent points and a small chance to find items.
The Channeling Action requires a Hero to be focused on drawing the Aion energy field into their body, leaving them vulnerable to attack. Players have the option to travel to a Leyline or Aionwell and lay an Ambush upon another player's Hero in order to steal their Channeling rewards. The benefit of an Ambush is that it takes less time to execute than a Channel action, meaning a successful Ambusher can complete more Ambush actions in a day than a Hero who only Channels. There is a risk, however, that an Ambusher can be defeated and lose some of their own Aion, as Ambushes have an Aion cost to begin, which is refunded if the Ambush is successful.
Beyond the fight for Aion, Heroes can Explore the Region they are currently in and receive rewards such as crafting Materials, recipes, items, as well as coming upon rare Quests. Every Hero has an Exploration skill which is improved by embarking on Explore actions. In order to eventually move on to higher level regions of the map, you will need a minimum amount of Explore skill.
Questing is also considered a type of Action, but unlike Channeling, Ambushing or Exploring, Quests are not always available. See the Questing page for more information.
